RECOMMENDED LEVELS OF PAINT FINISH OVER GYPSUM BOARD
This
document describes and recommends various levels of paint finish as the final decoration over
new interior gypsum board surfaces. The recommended level of paint finish over gypsum board
wall and ceiling surfaces varies depending on their location in the structure, the type of paint
applied, the level of gypsum board finish achieved prior to final decoration, and the type of
illumination striking the surface. Each recommended level of finish is described with typical
applications. All materials are to be used in accordance with all codes, specifications, and
manufacturers recommendations. |

The 18th edition of the Gypsum Association's
flagship publication depicts over 340 systems that may be used for fire-rated walls and partitions,
floor/ceiling systems, roof/ceiling systems, and to protect columns, beams, and girders. Included for
the first time in this edition are several new floor - and roof-ceiling systems and double-stud steel
partition designs. This manual provides contractors, designers, specifiers, owners, and others with a
convenient compilation of the latest in tested gypsum-board designed fire-rated protection systems
